About

A few bits about me.

I live in Croatia

Originally from the UK, I moved to Zagreb, Croatia, in 2016. It's a great city that felt like a place that I could live and work as soon as I arrived, and the beautiful coast is a relatively short drive away.

I've been working remotely from my home office since my arrival for a range of clients in different countries, and I began employment in a Croatian firm in October 2025.

I use Linux

I've been using Arch Linux with GNOME since 2019. As a daily driver, it gives me great flexibility and control over my daily activities. The simplicity allows me to focus on what I want to do without the distractions that often come from other operating systems.

I'm a sci-fi nerd

I'm into a bit of science-fiction, particularly Star Trek and The X-Files. Growing up, Star Trek gave me some inpsiration and belief that humanity could progress towards advanced space discovery, and The X-Files gave me a thrill and fear factor. They are both hugely enjoyable series to me.

I wanted to be a pilot

My eyesight let me down at an early age, so the dream job of being a pilot was nipped in the bud very early on. I'd have to class being a pilot as my dream job as youngster, but I don't regret taking the path of software engineering for a single moment. I still hold a passive interest in aviation and if there was ever a situation where the flight attendant asks if anybody can fly a plane, I might be able to step in.

I support Blackburn Rovers

From a young age, my dad took me to Ewood Park to watch Blackburn Rovers. I was lucky enough to see the build-up to the famous Premiership title win in the 1994/1995 season. I was a season ticket holder from around the age of 8 until I left for Croatia in 2016, but I still follow them from afar and support the club where I can.
